This Woman Is Determined To Break The Record For Biggest Hips In The World, Even If It Kills Her

A 43-year-old woman from Pennsylvania has set an extreme “summer bod” goal for herself: to beat the world record for the world’s largest hips. Bobbi-Jo Westley currently weighs 542 lbs and her hips are a whopping 95 inches.

In terms of body goals, it’s extreme for a number of reasons. Mainly, Bobbi-Jo’s doctors have been urging her to stop pursuing the feat because it will kill her.

The world’s largest hips currently belong to Mikel Ruffinelli, from Los Angeles. Her hips measure 99 inches.

Here’s what you need to know about Bobbi-Jo Westley and her journey to break a world record:

Bobbi-Jo has amassed a large online following. Her legion of fans and followers pay her for pictures of herself, something she says she was surprised by when she first started doing it.

She’s gone on the record to say that she’s very proud of her body in spite of what the world thinks of her: ‘My hips are what makes me unique,’ she told Daily Mail. ‘It’s what makes me ‘me’’

In fact, she’s adored by thousands of people: ‘I get all kinds of presents and messages from my fans, some of them ask ‘will you marry me?’’ she told Daily Mail, ‘Which is kind of hard because I’m already married.’

Six years ago, she was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. She believes that’s what led to her excessive weight gain. However, nutritionist Nadia Sharifi doesn’t think that’s the cause.

Like many other health professionals, Sharifi is convinced that Bobbi-Jo’s path is leading down to a pretty tragic end, one that she can stop if she quits this pursuit for the world’s largest hips.

‘Hormones, or thyroid issues, or blood type or ancestry might play a little part, but ultimately it’s down to what we put into our mouth’ Sharifi told Daily Mail, ‘When we’re talking about her veins, she can have a block very easily. She is really, truly a ticking time bomb.’

Bobby-Jo’s condition has left her housebound. She can’t walk across a room without getting out of breath, and she can’t step through doors without assistance. But still, nothing dissuades her from her goal.

‘It’s just something that I have to do and I take it one day at a time,’ she told Daily Mail, ‘I want to be remembered for something.’
