Posey was still practically a kitten herself when she wandered up to her future mom’s house with her three kittens.
Claudia Wright fell in love with Posey almost immediately, and decided to adopt her. After her three kittens grew up and found families of their own, Posey must have missed them – because she decided to go out and find another one.
Posey is around 4 years old now, and even though she’s no longer a stray, she still loves to occasionally go on adventures outside. One afternoon Posey went outside and was gone for several hours, and when she finally came back, she brought home quite the surprise.
“I guess she missed having a baby around and found one,”
Somewhere in her travels, Posey came across Meesy, a tiny, 7-week-old kitten. Posey’s maternal instincts must have immediately kicked in, and so rather than leave the poor kitten all alone, she brought her home and presented her to her mom.
“The kitten has never been seen around the neighborhood,” Wright said. “I already verified the kitten isn’t anyone else’s. Meesy must have gotten separated from her mother and she and Posey may have just come across each other.”
Meesy was so young that she had to be bottle-fed, and whenever she wasn’t being held by Wright, she was with Posey, being cuddled and loved. Posey loved on Meesy as much as she could, trying to convince her mom to let her keep her – and of course, it worked.
Meesy accidentally found her forever family by following Posey home one day, and both cats couldn’t be happier about it.
“They love each other,” Wright said. “They’ve completely adopted each other.”
