Spencer Elden initially wanted to honor the band by posing naked, as he did 25 years ago.

But when presented the idea, the photographer responded that ‘he thought that would be weird’ so ‘I wore my swim shorts,’ Elden told the New York Post.

‘It’s cool but weird to be part of something so important that I don’t even remember,’ said Elden, who is from Los Angeles.

Nirvana’s album, Nevermind which was released 25 years ago Saturday, was the second album for the American rock band that is arguably the defining album of the grunge movement.

The grunge movement came about in the early 1990s. It was a music movement from the Pacific Northwest known for its distorted guitars, moody or apathetic lyrics and flannel shirts.

It’s often credited with popularizing punk rock.

The Nevermind album has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide because of songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit, In Bloom and Come as You Are.

It was in 1991 when photographer, Kirk Weddle, who knew Elden’s father, Rick Elden, asked if he could use the baby for a photo shoot for Nirvana, according to TIME magazine.
